Well-paid mini-jobs in Germany
There are a number of well-paid mini-jobs in Germany, especially in sectors that are struggling with a shortage of skilled workers.
Mini-jobs are often equated with part-time jobs and are no longer a job that only students or school pupils do. Age and actual profession are totally irrelevant here, anyone can work on a mini-job basis. Since October 1, 2022, the mini-job limit has also increased to 520 euros.
In large cities, employees are always being sought on a mini-job basis, whether jobs in Düsseldorf, Berlin or Hamburg.
What is a mini-job?
The question often arises, what does full-time mean and what does mini-job mean?
A mini-job is a marginal employment up to a maximum of 520 euros, which has the advantage that you do not have to pay any taxes to the state. This means that you are paid 520 euros in full and nothing is deducted. Since October 2022, the hourly wage has increased, so you receive at least 12 euros per hour for working.
There are also two different types of mini-job:
- 520 Euro mini-job: Here the 520 Euro limit may not be exceeded, the working hours depend on the amount of the hourly wage.
- Short-term mini-job: Here the employment may last for a maximum of three months or 70 days in a calendar year.
If you want to do a mini-job alongside a main job that is subject to social security contributions, you must always contact the employer in advance. Consent is required here.
