Munich-based HR tech startup WorkerHero raises 4 million euros for AI-based specialist recruitment service

Munich, July 16, 2024 - The Munich-based recruiting technology startup WorkerHero has raised 4 million euros in a Series A financing round. The round is led by Mediahuis, one of Europe's leading media groups. Their extensive industry experience and commitment to innovation make them the perfect investor for WorkerHero. Also invested are existing investors such as 10x Founders and Bonsai Partners.

WorkerHero was founded in 2021 by Richard Fischer, Steven Miller, Michael König and Emanuel Wernitz to counteract the shortage of skilled workers. The platform uses AI-driven sourcing and matching to provide companies with high-quality candidates. The focus is on thorough pre-qualification and increasing the availability of skilled workers, which leads to higher success rates. Over 70,000 users have already created a profile on WorkerHero. Companies such as Telekom, HelloFresh and BayWa are already successfully recruiting via the platform.

"WorkerHero is successful because the company focuses on blue-collar occupations. Compared to its competitors, the company finds suitable candidates more quickly. In addition, there is a constant focus on user-friendliness and quality. This has enabled the start-up to achieve impressive growth since its foundation. We are delighted to be able to support WorkerHero from now on and want to continue its success together," says Patrick de Wachter, Director Corporate Development at Mediahuis.

The completed financing round will enable WorkerHero to scale further and tap into new industries. The latter is made possible by an upgrade to a new platform version of WorkerHero, which will simplify recruiting and job search even further in the future. The revised version offers an improved design and enhanced features, including advanced AI tools. In addition, WorkerHero wants to put an additional focus on international hiring to support companies in recruiting skilled workers from abroad.

Richard Fischer, CEO and co-founder of WorkerHero, emphasizes: "We want to solve the skills shortage in Europe by helping companies find skilled workers both within their country and internationally. With the support of Mediahuis and our existing investors, we are well positioned to realize our vision."
